According to the Environmental Protection Agency, cleaning a complete system in a normal house might cost anywhere between $450 and $1,000. However, a number of factors influence cost and time estimates:
- the ductwork’s kind
- size of the system
- access to the system
- needed number of crew members
- contamination level
- factors in the environment
Be wary of ads that promote “whole home discounts” at extremely low costs. Many just include the main ducts and charge extra for the air handler, blower fans, coils, registers, and cutting access, among other things. Many of these firms then up-charge exorbitantly once they arrive.
